Keep Your Carts Rolling When the Temperature Rises.

Heat eater casters are used anywhere carts, racks, or equipment need to move through very hot environments, such as bakery ovens, industrial furnaces, kilns, autoclaves, and sterilization areas. They’re built to keep rolling without melting, warping, or losing strength when exposed to heat and repeated cleaning cycles.

Heat Eater Casters

What to look for

  • Temperature rating: Make sure the caster is rated for your actual operating temperature, not just room temperature. Standard casters often fail above about 150°F, while high-heat models are built for much hotter conditions.
  • Load capacity under heat: Heat reduces capacity, so choose a caster with extra margin rather than one that barely matches the load.
  • Wheel material: Phenolic, cast iron, forged steel, and high-temp nylon are common choices; avoid ordinary plastics for serious heat.
  • Bearing and lubrication: Look for heat-resistant bearings and lubricants that can survive repeated hot cycles.
  • Environment and cleaning: If the caster will face steam, washing, or corrosion, confirm it is suitable for wet or sanitizing conditions, not just dry heat.
  • Wheel style and size: Swivel casters help with maneuvering, while larger wheels often roll easier over floors and thresholds.

Heat Eater Casters made out of Epoxy resin wheels offer superior moisture resistance and toughness, making them ideal for wash-down environments and food applications.
Constructed with solid epoxy resin, our wheels are designed primarily for rigorous environments involving harsh chemicals and moisture.
The superior moisture resistance is making them safe for frequent wash-downs and ideal for food applications.
They are inherently tough, resist shock, and are non-marking on floors.

Available as

High Temperature Caster Wheel Only, 4 X 1-1/2"

or as  Swivel Caster Complete Assembly

The safest purchase is the one matched to the full duty cycle: heat level, load, floor type, and how often the equipment will go in and out of the hot zone. For bakery, oven, and autoclave use, ask for the exact temperature limit, time-at-temperature rating, and any PSI or sterilization specs if applicable. A caster that works briefly at high heat may still fail if it has to live there all day.

A simple example: a bakery rack going into a 500°F oven needs a caster made for high-temp use, with enough capacity after heat derating and a material that won’t soften or crack.

Heat Eater Casters

Did you know we offer Heat Eater Casters designed specifically for bakery carts and other high-temperature applications?

Heat Eater Casters for Bakery and Oven racks are among the most frequently used and abused casters. In many businesses, these wheels are used all day and night, 7 days a week. We recommend rotating oven racks, so the wheels are not used 24/7. But of course that depends on the number of racks at your disposal.
We carry the Green High-Temperature Epoxy Resin Wheels that outperform any other high-temperature wheel on the market, specifically for bakery and oven applications.

Available as

High Temperature Caster Wheel Only, 4 X 1-1/2"

Who likes squeaky shopping carts?

No one... ever.

Nothing is more annoying to your customers

- and damaging to your floors -

than squeaky shopping carts.

What causes the squeaking?

If the caster is not aligned correctly it will cause wobbling, and over time, squeaking.

It might be the age of the casters - shopping cart wheels have an average life span of 2 years - improper installation, or usage of the caster at high speeds.

So how do I fix this?

Regularly clean your carts. Remove large debris by hand, then wash with hot water. Power washers are recommended. This also helps reduce rusting and prolongs the life of your carts. After cleaning inspect your carts and repair minor problems like a damaged bumper or a loose handle.

If your casters are still squeaky after you wash them, lubricate them.

If your casters are rusty or broken beyond repair, replace the wheels. Shopping cart wheels and casters have an average lifespan of two years.

Generic Parts offers a wide range of quality casters. Here is a guide on how to measure your wheels to make sure you order the correct replacements:

THE HOLIDAYS ARE COMING

Get your jacks ready for the busy season with this checklist

Here are five important items for your checklist to make sure your warehouse is prepared.
1. Check your warehouse floors and outdoor loading areas to make sure the workplace is clean and clear of any obstacles. Make sure that debris and spills are cleaned and swept up so that your operating environment is safe for your equipment to operate in. Debris and spills can ruin or shorten the life of your wheels or get in the way of your loads.

2. Inspect the wheels on your pallet jacks and forklifts regularly to make sure that they are rolling easily and that there are no flat spots or delamination. Over time, the poly or rubber on your wheels can crack or wear unevenly resulting in unstable and unsafe loads. This can cause additional stress on your machine and on your workers' hands and arms due to vibration and rolling instability. We offer convenient wheel kits for manual pallet jacks and electric lift trucks

3. Have you looked at the forks lately?  Make sure there are no cracks or damage as the forks bear the brunt of the load. Using a damaged jack can cause a load to shift and fall and may damage products or cause injuries to your workers.

4. Check the hydraulic pump for leaks and make sure that it is operating properly. Does it pump up and hold your load? Does it lower safely?

5. Test the handles, levers, controls, and horn where applicable, so that you are confident everything is working properly before you add a heavy load.
